We woke up this morning in NY with a dusting of snow and was greeted with this wonderful story produced by the AZ Game & Fish Department. "Monarch Butterflies are the only insect to migrate 2500 miles to get out of the cold weather and hibernate." Butterfly tagging expeditions are used to determine butterfly migration patterns. Determining travel patterns is then used to help protect more open space!
"I actually learned a bit about monarch butterfly tagging when I took a walk with the ranger at West Meadow Beach this past fall which I think was pretty cool." - Carol
