Purple Top Grass (Tridens flavus)

​Classification:  perennial warm season grass
Characteristics: erosion control,
Habitat: open fields and woodlands
Wildlife Benefit: larval host,  wildlife food (seed heads) and cover, pollinator habitat improvement
Bloom Period: August-November
Height: 3-6  ft
Tolerances:  part shade to full sun, variety of soils, deer resistance
