Swamp Milkweed (Asclepias incarnata)

Swamp Milkweed is a must have because it's a host plant for monarch butterflies -- caterpillar stage.   It does well in  moist to wet areas, but doesn't tolerate competition from other weeds.

Characteristics:  gardens, pond, lakes, streams edges
Habitat: moist to garden soils
Wildlife Benefit: attracts bees and butterflies, especially monarchs
Bloom Period: late summer
Height: 3-4 ft
​Tolerances: full sun preferred, deer resistant
