Tickseed (Coreopsis verticillata)

Prefers sandy soils, very drought tolerant. Seeds feed birds & small animals. Deer forage in winter, maybe saving favorites.  Tickseeds don't attract ticks!  Seeds attach to socks.

​Classification:  herbaceous perennial
Characteristics: adds attractive early season color
Habitat: dry open fields, will be outcompeted by more dominant plants
Wildlife Benefit:  attracts butterflies, bees, pollinators, seeds beneficial for birds and small animals, provide food source for deer
Bloom Period: June-July 
Height: 2-3 ft
Tolerances: full sun to partial shade, drought tolerant
