Wild Bergamot (Monarda fistulosa)

Wild Bergamot a lovely addition to the garden. Does well in thickets and open woods. It will establish a colony so allow room for it to spread. It's more tolerant of drier soils than bee balm ( Monarda didyma).

Summary

Classification:  herbaceous perennial
Characteristics: showy and will colonize to fill open area
Habitat:  upland woods, thickets.
Wildlife Benefit:  attracts bees, butterflies, humming birds, and other pollinators 
Bloom Period: June-September
Height:  4-6 ft.
​Tolerances:  Full sun to part shade. Does well in dry to moist soils. Deer resistant.
